I accidently posted this same question in the hangun forum>> My question is when you open the action should the case eject out on its own or do you have to pull it out by hand each time!!! I just got an Encore in 300 Win mag and shot it for the first time today and wasn't real sure about this!!! Thanks

You have to pull it out by hand.

Yes, the extractor on the Encore pulls the shell just out of the barrel so you can reach the shell to pull it all the way out yourself. Some discussion has been given to this and there is a way to put an ejector on if you so desire. Run a search on "Ejector " or "Extractor" on this forum and this will give you quite a bit of info on this subject if you're interested. Good Shooting!
