Late season?  You mean the late season special draw hunts?

I was in D-5 this weekend.  Saw 4 does.  Typical California.

lewdogg21,

Not knowing where you live here in California we have deer seasons that have just opened or are about to open.  these are classified as "late" seasons and these are the ones I am talking about.  Lawdog

Ah, I see, I live in Sacramento and hunt D-5 which opened two weeks ago and closes on Halloween.  When I think of late season I think of Nov Muzzleloader hunts, etc.  I've applied for the lava beds natl monument one (south of Tule Lake) before but haven't been drawn.

D-5 = Up highway 88, (east of Stockton)

D3, D4 and D5 are combo zones where my tag is good for all 3.

Late seasons?

Dang, even bow season don't start here for 10 more days. Gun season won't open until Nov. 20, but we'll still be doing it until Jan. 31 once it starts. Here in my area we get 49 doe days this season. Nov. 20-Jan. 7. During doe days we can kill one doe and one buck or two does per day. Rest of gun season it's one buck a day.

Now if only there were enough of them to even think about such a limit.
