Let's see some Encore Rifle pics . . .
« on: September 26, 2004, 05:53:48 PM »
Here's mine.

26" .223 wearing a Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16X40mm.

209X50 wearing a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9X40mm

Both have Warne Maxima base and rings.  The .223 has the standard permanent attach rings and the 209X50 has the QD rings.  The stocks are Boyds Bros. laminated stocks I purchased from eabco.com.

I just got one of those boyd stocks the other day for my encore also.  This is my 24" stainless 22-250 barrel with a burris 3-9x40 ballistic plex in millet rings and weaver base. You can also my 24" blued 45/70 barrel with leupold rings and base with 1.5-5x20 VarX III.

The second picture is of my 24" blued 30/06 barrel with leupold base and rings with VarX I 2-7x33.  I just send my 24" 45/70 barrel to E Arthur Brown to get cut down to 18" and french gray finished.  If I end up liking the french gray finish I might send my 30/06 barrel down to get finished also.  Otherwise I will look around for other durable finishes.

I also have a Stainless 209x50 barrel but left that in michigan so my dad could use it on his frame.

This is my 22-250 Encore, 24 inch barrel, BEC Goldlabel scope, and Wall-Mart cheapo bipod. Also that is my stupid, fat, lazy cat.

Go out and get yourself a Concealed Weapons License. I did. :gun4:

I've been wanting to get one of those ELK rests but they are so heavy to carry around guess I will have to settle for a Illinois deer rest instead :-D  :-D

Thats a sweet looking carbine barrel you have there.  How does the 500 S&W perform out of that 20" tube?

On the .500, I've chronographed my loads at 1650 fps pushing a 440 grain Leadhead cast bullet.  The powder was surplus WC680 which is the same as AA1680.  This is a good powder for the round as you cannot put too much powder in the case.  That load was 40.0 grains and is slightly compress.
