Tough Plastic?

Or tough bullets.
To prepare for hunting season I usually have my wife save all her 1 liter water bottles and use them for targets. I fill them with water and hang them by a string at 100 yards and try to hit them off hand with my 708. With a little wind it's good practice. Well the other day I had  a assortment of loads, some were 100 gr Sierra JHP and also some 140g BTSP of the Sierra brand. The 100 g are running about 2500 and so are the 140's. After a few "warm up" shots I nicked the one bottle by the neck with a 140. It tore open a flap and simply spun it around. The next shot was in the other bottle at the bottom and centered. All it did was punch a caliber sized hole and drain the water! Back to the other bottle that was still 3/4 full I tried a JHP without much more effect but at least it split the back open. I'm thinking that the Sierras may be built a bit tougher than some of the other brands. My Hornet with the Hornady V-Maxes will generally vaporize one of those jugs. Anyone used either one of these on game? The ones that I've seen used on gamehave been shot out of a rifle and usually were in peices. Maybe they changed the jackets.

Chris,
The 100g HP's were given to me and the 140's I had bought for practice instead of using up the expensive BT's. I looked up the numbers and there's no indication that they are for a magnum only. Those bottles are only 3" across so maybe theres just not enough resistance/time to get them expanding at the lower vel. Might have to do a little more checking.
