I use blue loctite on the base screws only, never on the ring screws.

I use it on the base screws only. Clear fingernail polish works well too. Use lighter fluid to clean the screws and holes so you get a good bond. Green Loctite will work fine. If you use RED you will have to use heat to break the bond or you will strip the threads.

I use blue removable lock tight. It has never  let me down and I have always been able to get it loose.  :D

becareful if you use the high strength green it also must be heated to remove. locktight has diferent greens check you numbers or discription
