T/C Interchangability

Greetings again.
Could anyone give me the skinny on Interchangability for Contenders.
An old buddy of mine Has a bunch of T/C stuff and he told me years back that Stainless barrels won't work on a Standard frame, Super 14's are finnicky, etc.... I havent found anything on the net concerning GO/NO-GO
parts combinations.

Come to think of it, he had some VERY EARLY T/C frames....

I have 3 blued frames and 2 stainless.  Also have 2 AA frames that have been converted to accept standard barrels.  All of my barrels fit all of my frames.  But all of my frames are the newer easy open style frame.  Armor Alloy barrels won't fit the stainless or blued frames though.  The hinge pin hole is a bit smaller on the AA stuff.

Stainless or blue, no matter what length are all interchangable. With the noted exception of the AA barrels. Some barrels are finicky as to frame but that is usually a problem with that individual barrel.  KN

If you have some of the older "flat bottom lug" barrels that have a one piece locking lug and you want to put that barrel on a "easy open frame".....you will need to get split locking lugs from TC. Its a simple process to change and with the split lugs that barrel will now fit on any generation Contender including a G2. TC used to just give the split lugs away.

AA barrels will fit the blue or stainless frames if they have been modified by the factory.  On the side of the welded lug on the you will see a "&" if it has been converted by the factory.  I currently shoot a .35Rem in AA with my blue and stainless frame.  

I've had a couple of barrels that were easy to shut on the frames, but the dickens to get open.  The split lugs that Skb2706 was talking about fixed them all.   They all interchange easily now.
