Contender frame # 202xxx

This frame has a hammer type I have never seen.  It has a push-pull pin through the hammer that changes it from rf to cf.  I expected the normal lever that changes from rf to s to cf.  Is this an after market hammer?  Will TC rebuild this frame? Is there a charge?

On my older frame that push pin did not change from rf to cf it was a sort of safety.  It made a pin protrude so the hammer was blocked from making contact with the firing pins.  To change from rf to cf on this type of frame you used a screwdriver to rotate the hammer nose so it struck either the lower or upper(rf) firing pin.

Thank you.

I am sure the push-pull was a safety, as I noticed the pin come out.  I only looked at the frame for a few minutes.  I was afraid the frame had been fooled with and the hammer was after market.  I just never saw that hammer before.

Thanks again.

I have one in the 195XXX range and it was originally like that. A trip to the factory once and it came back with the new style hammer, No charge. Definitely better then the old one.  KN
