My old dog is in bad shape. My wife told some friends we'd let them leave their dog with us for 2 weeks. It was 1/2 wolf, other 1/2 chow. I objected but gave in. Last evening I was walking back to the pond, our terrier went over to the dog and they just looked at eack other. My dog turned to leave and the darned dog grabbed her by the back. She's 14 1/2 years old. She had 2 big puncture wounds and lost some blood. I can't get her to drink anything. She ate 7 or 8 bites of my grilled pork chop,  but still no fluids. She may not make it. She can barely walk, but at least not paralyzed. I carried her outside this afternoon and she went pee, didn't think she'd ever stop. I thought the sun might do her some good, but she wanted back in. I carried her around back so she could see that the darned dog was GONE. She's in Gods hands, nothing more I can do but keep some aspirin in her and keep her comfortable.
I too hope that prayer is true. POWDERMAN.  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(

Powderman sorry to hear about your dog hope it gets on the mend soon. My cocker is friendly to every thing but he has not been around dogs any so afraid to see what would happen if he did he might get chewed on too. Jim

Powderman, you didn't say what corrective action you took on the offender.  It is my opinion that a large caliber high velocity projectile administered to the cranium would provide the proper attitude adjustment for the wolf/chow.

Anyway I hope your buddy pulls through.

Powderman,
Hope your dog fairs well. I have a Choc lab that is going on 13 and is stoved up a little but over all gets around good. I was just thinking the other day how hard it will be when that day comes. They are a lot of fun, and I hope that your pal recovers.

My wife got her to eat and drink a bit yesterday but today she wouldn't do either. I carried her outside and she peed but couldn't get back on the porch. After supper we took a raw egg, powdered aspirin, and a little milk and forced it down her with a syringe. She's much more alert now and she drank some water. She'll get more before bed. POWDERMAN.
