I have two of these rifles, a mohawk brown that my dad bought for me as a kid in the sixties, and an apache black I bought for my kid in the late eighties. I bought it for him because I new what mine had been through, and yes, they are not exactly a tack driver, but are as dependable as they come.
The mohawk brown has sported a 1.5 X 5 bushnell for at least 30 years or more.
If you remove the receiver cover to clean the rifle, the point of impact will change.
I wouldn't trade mine for anything, guess it's the sentimental value.
