Boy, talk about fair trade. Did you know the combat boots many American military members are wearing were made in China? As are several other items they are issued. As for buying American in a vehicle, what vehicle is totally made in America today? I own a Ford F-250 diesel, look anywhere on the truck and the wiring harnesses are all made in Mexico. Same is true for Dodge and chevrolet. I worked for Chevrolet for a short period after I retired from the military back in the late 70s, the transmissions made in Mexico almost killed GM. Just about any product you buy today is, or has some parts made overseas. It's darn hard to buy a piece of clothing that's made in America.
I don't know the answer to correct the situation America is in, but I firmly believe if things don't change soon, we are headed for another depression. Just like 1929, 1% of the people control all the money, jobs are being outsourced, and the backbone of this country, the working man, is finding himself bringing home less and less each payday as a result of inflation. Our national debt is out of sight and I don't think Bush can fix it.
I'm plus-sixty and don't think this will impact my life to any large degree, but I fear for my grandchildren and what they may be left with. I lived through a part of the great depression, and was raised by parents who struggled everyday to provide for us kids. I wouldn't want to see anyone have to go though that again.
