Hello all -
I'm a new poster, but old in all else.
Thought someone might be interested to hear of my new project - the .33 Bearcat.
I recently got a CZ24; turns out the groove diam. is .3305!
In talking to my brother (access to machinery), decided to make my very own UNIQUE cartridge for this rifle.
I'll rechamber to 57mm Ack. Imp., ream the throat for .330/250 bullet, lap ~ 4" of the bbl in front of the throat (tight there), and basically duplicate the .318 Westley-Richards.
Except I can load up to 300 gr bullets, as I have sized .338s down to .3295 already (as part of my test Program), and it works fine.
Seems I can get 2350 -2400 fps w/250 gr, expect 2150-2200 w/Speer 275s if I can find them, but probably won't use 300s - anything needs that much killing, I'd use my .375 H&H or .45-75 Sharps!
If I get any response from anyone, I'll keep y'all posted on the progress.
