I like milsurps a lot. I have a half dozen that I load for and these have been cleaned, but not altered in any way. I also have a few that were "Bubbarized" back in the 50's and 60's All of the ones I have were nicely done. Barrels nicely shortened, Williams sights, etc , good reblueing and so forth. I feel these guns have a legitimate history. It did not stop when they were sold as surplus, They served their owners well when even the price of a 30-30 was out of reach. In particlater my older cousin purchased a 9.95 Carcano and sporterized it. I think it accounted for 20 some odd Vermont deer and hundreds of pounds of Woodchucks before it was retired. Please don't tell me that rifle doesn't have a nobel past. Parallax Bill's forum has a treasuretrove of information, but the inflexible mindset yruly baffles me. Does anyone feel the same way I do?
