What did you think of it? worth the money? as much noise reduction as claimed? The US Marines have purchased quite a lot for their Rokons and small boats. I figure is must be pretty good if they are using them?

The pipes I've been around work at least as well as advertised. As a matter of fact, most work well enough as to make the mechanical noise of the of the engine and drive train more noticable than the exhaust note. On the down side. They do reduce available power output quite a bit.

This subject has come up here before and now as then I still question the need for noise reduction as critters where I am seem to be used to the noise anyway and pay little attention any more. Because of this they're not worth the money to me but your situation may be different.

I saw this topic come up before and I made a point to go ask someone that had one.

If you want your power, don't get this! Apparently the louder it is, the more power it has

My 2004 Yam Big Bear 400 has more exhaust noise than I want when in the woods and I have been thinking about how I can reduce the exhaust noise. The stock muffler leaves alot to be desired in tone and noise level. I was trying to come up with something other than adding the aftermarket second muffler system.

Any ideas???

You think the stock is bad. I'll trade with ya lol. My HMF is 105db without the snork on it. With the snork it's more like 110db.

I think the stock muffler is around the low 90's which is much quieter. If you reduce the muffler noise you are gonna loose power. Only way I know of is putting the aftermarket "second" muffler. You are pretty much reduced as much as you are gonna get right now.

I don't care about loosing some power as long as it does not pose any threat of damage to the engine. Just want to cut the noise down as inexpensively as possible.

Well, I suppose if you are not concerned with power loss then the stealth exhaust would be the way to go. From what I understand the company Benz makes a pretty good stealth muffler that you should not loose a lot of power with.

Another thing is that most of these companies say that you don't have to rejet when adding these mufflers which I find hard to beleive because you are adding more restriction. I would definately check the jetting after adding the stealth muffler.
