LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Police Department’s anti-terrorism chief is no longer strapped.

John Miller has turned in the unlicensed handgun that Los Angeles International Airport baggage screeners found in his carry-on luggage last month, as well as a second, licensed handgun, authorities said Friday. He also turned in his emergency-equipped SUV.

“He did it voluntarily,” said Sgt. Catherine Plows, a police spokeswoman.

Miller was on his way to New York to tape a farewell message for Barbara Walters, his former co-host on television’s “20-20,” when the gun was found. The anti-terrorism chief, who said he’d forgotten      he had the weapon with him, was allowed to board his flight.

What the heck is a licensed/registered handgun?  Is that another Peoples Republic abomination?

magooch:  a licensed/registered handgun is one that is registered to you (by the licensing authorities)  and that you are licensed (by the same authority) to carry it.  Many states have those requirements including NY.  To us (here in NY) this is nothing new.

But, what is news is that the security chief was packin' an unregistered and unlicensed piece.  That SOB should have gone to jail, not to NY to wa-wa for Barbara.  Schmidt man, had that been one of us we would have suffered a 'jailhouse tan' while waiting for our attorney to get us out of jail and that SOB just goes free.

Hang him, and hang him high.  One law, one interpretation.  If the prk is gonna set laws, then everyone should follow them, right Ah-nold??  Mikey.
