I have the Stainless/Synthetic model and I like it. It's strengths are it's light (~3.25 pounds) and it's compact so you are more likely to take it along. The accuracy is OK, about as accurate as a stock 10/22 and much better than any AR7 or M6 Scout I've owned or fired. It feeds all High Velocity ALL the time. It will even cycle subsonic (Remington) MOST of the time.
What I don't like about it; It doesn't have the "real gun" feel of a 10/22 or CZ 452. The wooden stock version is better in that regard. The stainless model won't fire without the magazine without depressing a little tab (PITA) but the older wood/blued version will. I hate the sights.
As far as I know, there really isn't a take down carbine that is as light, reliable, accurate or compact as the Papoose. In *my* opinion, it's the best of the bunch.
I've decided to Scope mine full time. I'm going to test a Simmons 4x28 compact scope and see how it does. I like that it's only 8.25 oz. and only 7.25" long. It keeps with the compact & ultralight theme better. And it's available for less than $50. I'm tempted to put a Leupold 2-7 on it but for a $200 carbine I just can't justify it.
