I got my first contender 22lr bbl. has the selector on the hammer for vintage refrence.
Any bbls out there that wont fit?
I hear the "really old" ones are different but that TC will modify them for free.
Anything I should look for in buying used bbls other than the obvious issuse of condition

They will do the conversion but I thought that they charged around $55.

You both are right.  They will do the hammer updates free.  The easy open upgrade is $55 normally.  I guess they used to do it free, but not any more.  There have been some folks, though, that have not had to pay.  I don't know where the line is drawn.  Call and ask.

As to barrels, some of the Armor Alloy need modification to work, but all others shuld work fine.  Some of the early barrels may need two piece lugs, but TC will send them to you if you ask.

Have fun!

I'm starting to think if you call and act like you don't know what is wrong with the frame, they will fix it for free.  I called and told them my barrels needed split lugs to work with my frame and they charged me for everything.

By the way, it's super easy to change the solid lugs out for the new ones.  Get a punch and relieve pressure on the pin and they come right out.

I'm not complaining, but I never have gotten a free deal from them.  They are quick to ship and I always have a complete order.

The Armor Alloy barrels will have an "&" (minus the "" marks)on the right side of the big square solid lug on the bottom of the barrel if it was modified by the factory.  They work fine with stainless or blue frames and shoot very well.

Ok,,,,By split lugs do you mean the bolt that locks into the frame? Forgive my ignorance in terms I'm new.
Is that the big difference in bbls??
So if they have a split one its a newer one?

I guess I'm out in left field too.  Define the split lugs thing.
