Bought a new crossbow today. Went out to shoot it and lost all my arrows.    What type of targets does everyone use.

There are several brands/types that work well. I like an inexpensive "bag" target for field points.
(bag type target)

For broadheads a "block" type is needed, but I'm still looking for one that works well with a crossbow  :?  Most I've tried so far let the arrow bury to or past the fletching, and are a real pain to get the arrows out of   My latest one (a YellowJacket) was not satisfactory, so I took it apart and removed 2 out of 5 layers of foam. The 3 layes won't stop an arrow, but they slow it down enough that a piece of plywood propped behind the target deflects them onto the ground. I use it in front of a dirt bank for a safe backstop in case on does get past it.

I myself have found most targets unsatisfactory for broadheads so I use a tightly packed hpme made bag target with a heavy foam target behind it as a back drop.

So far my broads have went thru the bag up to the flecthing and I have had no trouble in pulling the bolt completely thru and not damage the flecthing or vanes.

I do not use the bag broad head target but a few times as a pass thru could happen hence the back stop. A couple shots tell me what I need to know as far as field tip VS broad head point of impact!!

What happened to your arrows, complete miss the target and lost your arrows or tore up from the target ?
