Last week I read a post and a few guys were saying if you get a fox or coyote, then reset the circle and lightly mist with urine. Well Tuesday I caught a gray fox, reset the circle and misted with urine. Low and behold the next day I had a nice coyote! Thanks for the advice, it works!

Thumper, Thumper, Thumper you're gettin as bad as Gappa...doin experiments without controls  :-D .  All you really know is it did not, not work.

Now, what you need is a nice close double, remake both mist one.  If you catch consistently in the misted sets and not in the unmisted you have some good data.

You go out now and catch ten close doubles and follow the above protocol and let us know.  Try as I may to get Steve to cooperate, all he wants to do is the experimental sets and never the controls.  I doubt if I'll ever make a scientist out of him.

So Wackyquacker, how has your catch ration been, between the van and the wife's vehicle?   And how do you bed the trap in the van?  I assume that you must leave the doors open so the critters can get in.  Do you find placement is better on the floor mat, or do the canines just jump up onto the seat. Suppose its simlar to a haybale set....  We'd appreciate if you'd run a test on a pickup as well.  It would be much easier and one could bed the trap in, well...in the bed!  Also would eliminate the problem of a dead battery in morining from the dome light being on all night with the doors open.   Look forward to more infor on your vehicle sets...

You "Cowboys" are all alike :), miss the forrest for the trees.  You don't bed the trap in the truck geeze ;  the truck is used as a mobile draw station.  If parked long enough in one spot the area becomes permeated with the smell.  You can also use the truck to "lay" scent trails to each trap location.

Pick ups just won't cut it! (man I got ta learn you guys everything) :(   The bed of a pickup, even a capped one will not hold the smell like a carpeted van with cabinetry.

Trust me, Wacky is right on the van holding the smell  better!  I can attest to that.  Then again  maybe it was the gallon jars of bait in the back, dont know for sure.  Need more  scientific  tests  :-D

Alright I'll give you credit. My vehicles tend to sit an inordinate amount of time. Just need to make sure they break down in the right spot...
