I'm not sure which one he is talking about.  I do know that there is a 12 FVSS in .308.  I was once considering this rifle.  It's a heavy, fluted barreled .308 with a pillar bedded synthetic (plastic) stock.

These are very accurate rifles as I have shot one.  With 165 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips 3 shots were well under 1" at 100 yards.

My only general complaint is that Savage rifles feel kinda cheaply made to me.  Their actions fees kinda sloppy.  Still, they do shoot great, and I honestly can't deny that.

My only specific complaint was that the trigger was very heavy and sloppy.  However, Savage has a new adjustable trigger called "Accu Trigger" that, from what I have heard, eliminates these problems.

When all is said and done, I think that you will be happy with it (again, if it's the 12 FVSS).

Thanks Zach

It is a 12vss , varminter. You are correct about seeming workmanship. I sighted a 7mm for a friend a few years ago. Something about it was not quite right but it shot a decent group.

Zach,

Don't worry too much about the trigger.  They are easily adjusted.  Mine breaks extremely clean and I'd guess about 3-4lbs.  But, it's like breaking a glass rod.  I am very happy with my 10FP (24") in .308

I like it so much, I am going to get a 10FP (20") in .223.  That is, as soon as, I sell my AR15.

I got a Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15X50 on Gunbroker for $216 the other day, and I've got no rifle for it.  Who could pass on a $300+ scope for that price?

Good luck, and enjoy that savage.
