What would you like.....
« on: August 29, 2004, 01:39:32 AM »
If it were up to you, what would you like to see Remington come out with?
I'd like to see a removable cheekpiece for their shotguns so that people who hunt in slug-only areas could put it on their guns when they go to slug barrels for deer.  I'd also like to see a lightweight 7600; about 6 1/2 lbs. or a little less with a 20" barrel in .35,.308,7mm/08,30/30 (or any short action cal. in a true short action 7600) I think that would be just the ticket for woods hunters. I have a great shooting 7600 in '06 w/scope but wished it were a little lighter.

HIGH quality scopes and binoculars comparable to Swarovski, Zeiss, etc. but with a price tag around Bushnell and Nikon...and also made in USA of course

I would also like to see Remington make pistols like the old M51 again...

A "Takedown" bolt action rifle with easy to swap barrels like the Dakota Arms Model 76 Traveler

I could think of a list as long as my leg...

Stay Safe. Happy Hunting/Shooting.  :D

I think I'm gonna have to agree w/ #1 on that. It would be cool to see a replica of Eliphalet Remington's 1816 Flintlock

1. Reintroduce the M3200 and this time in 20 and 28 ga. also. OR at least use the old M3200 safety on their O/U shotguns.

2. A model 7 with 20" barrel, SS metal and a full length stock of gray laminate like the current Custom MS Model 7.

3. A M700 LSS Mtn. Rifle in .280 AI and preferrably with gray not brown laminated stock.

For starters, a very easy one; a Model 700 CDL in 280 Remington. I also like the idea of a Remington traditional muzzleloading rifle in flint and / or precussion. Make these rifles for actual field use, not as high-dollar collector's items. Some of us still prefer traditional styled BP rifles.

Well i could come up with a long list too.

A few that come to mind quick are:

Put the metal trigger group back in the 870 Express.... :(

How about the 700 LVSF in the triple duece

Laminated wood stock option for more model 700 variations in the blue collar cartridges

I already partly spilled the beans in the other thread, I'd love to see Remington come out with a line of short action 7400's and 7600's in carbine length.  Cartridges I'd like to see chambered are: .358 Winchester, .250 Savage, 7X57 (may be too long), 350 RemMag, .284 Win. and .300 Savage.
Hunting is Exciting!  Bolt actions are BORING!!
Don't mix the two!

7600 and 7400 in 300 and 7mm SAUM, model 7 left hand also in SAUM, 3200 in a skeet model again, and a SP-10 for less than 1K. MIKE.

I couldn't agree with you more Rick. I would also like to see 260 or 7mm-08 added to that list.

The reason that wasn't added is that's always the tough part of the decision for me. I've toyed with buying me one of the Model 7 MS custom rifles many times but always stopped short of it for that very reason.

I tend to think I'd really like one in .358 Win. but that's never been an option. I've considered the .35 Rem. which is available but it doesn't really quite justify the expense of such a rifle in my mind. I don't care for belted cases so the .350 Rem. Mag is out.

I'd likely just go to my favorite 7-08 but hate to duplicate the LSS Mtn. Rifle I have in same. The .260 Rem. is one I'm now playing with which would likely be candidate #2 but then I also have an LSS Mtn. Rifle in that chambering.

Which brings me back to where I started above. I'd really like it to be a .358 Win. which they won't make. Dang decisions.

I would like to see Remington reintroduce their 1863 New Model Army percussion revolver. Remington could do like Colt did and import the parts from Italy and assemble and finish them here. I for one would be willing to pay extra for a "re-issue"  newly made Remington revolver.

Same for me sundown--58 New Army, and it would be the real deal, not a replica! I'd pay up to 5 bills for one.

Gotta hand it to ya Willy, them double barreled shotguns are expensive. And heck, I might go Ruger on Remington b/c I think they make a better O/U. And for almost the same price!   Oh well, still extra $$$ out of our pockets, no matter how ya look at it!  :D

I would like Remington to bring back the XP-100 in single-shot form, not the repeater Model 7 action.

Also a heavy-barrel rimfire single-shot comparable to the 40xi or 541-T.

I'd like to see:

.358 Winchester in the Model 7 and 700 rifles.

A .338-06 Model 700.
