Hi everyone  :D , just bought my 1st crossbow.  A Parker 150lb Safari Mag., seems to be a very nice bow.  Anyone elso shoot one.  What about the carbon bolts they come with, any good for hunting.  And what about expanding broadheads vs fixed.  Sorry to have soooo many questions on one posting, but I'm new, and deer season opens in 2 weeks.  Thanks  :grin:

:D 209X50 that Parker 150lb Safari Mag be a real fine xbow, No I do not use that model. The carbon bolts that you have with it will be fine for hunting, just make sure that the broadheads you buy for hunting are of the same weight.

I use SlickTrick fixed blades and they fly great, I would have to do some research but I am sure you will get some great suggestions in a short while. :wink:

Don't own a Parker myself, but I've been told they are a very fast & accurate crossbow.
I shoot Excalibur and use carbons with it. They shoot well, and seem to be either straight or broken  :)  (and they are hard to break!)
I've found Wasp JakHammers to be very accurate, but have had problems with them opening in flight out of my Exocet when shooting them at 310 fps. Out of the old Vixen at 260 fps - no problems at all.
I've found the G-5 Outdoors "Montec" to be an exceptionally accurate fixed blade, and the SlickTrick a good relaceable blade fixed blade, with the Montec having a slight edge on accuracy.

Howdy 209 x 50,have heard Paker makes a very fine product.Here I use a Barnett Rhino Mag. w/carbon bolts,w/125 gr. Muzzy 1-3/16 cut fixed broadheads (3 blade).Just be sure you match the correct weigt broadhead with your bolt as per Parker's recommendations and all should be fine.Oh,yea...I forgot PRACTICE........alot :lol: ..Good luck and good hunting.Bow season opens here in Bama Oct.15.................Rick

Hey...imagine that, archery season opens here in Ontario (my part anyways) on the 15th!  Our archery season lasts till the end of the year.   I took my 1st shot at my 3-D deer last night, then I spent about 10 min. trying to remove the bolt!!!!  I had to remove the core, put it on the ground, stand on it, and pull my guts out for 5 min.!! Is there something I'm missing?

I hope you were using field points . try wiping the bolt with liquid Ivory soap, it works for me . I dont have a Parker but is it a flat nock on the rear of the bolt. if so try replacing it with a front insert, the you can us the Excalibur T-handle to remove the bolt. Like the one below.

:D 209x50, How's that New Parker 150lb Safari Mag doing ya ? Got it sighted in as yet ? If so how do you like it so far ? be very interested in reading how you are doing with the xbow  :wink:

It shoots really well.  I have shot it from 20-40yards into my 3D deer and it is really accurate.  I only shoot one bolt at a time, afraid of a
"robin hood" $10/bolt you know.  The Simmons scope on it is perfect, long eye relief, and the steps on the reticle are bang on at 20-30-and 40.  Now I'm just waiting for the big bucks to co-operate.

What model is your Simmons scope ? As far as the big bucks ya have too make them co-operate, tease them in with will-power  :-D  :wink:
