I am in the market for a new shot gun. I was thinking about the super black eagle but I would rather have a pump. What is available for leftys that will shoot 3.5"? I know Mossberg has an 835 with tang safety but is there any thing else out there?

There's always the Ithaca Model 37... It doesn't much care what side ya shoot from...unfortunately they are only chambered in 3".... :wink:

As mntman says, the Ithaca m37 is a great pump and I'll give you the site to check them out.........http://www.ithacagun.com/ The Ithaca offers bottom eject but in 3" only.

Now, about this 3 1/2" chamber. Do you really know or want the pain that comes with a 12ga. in 3 1/2" chamber?

? You don't say what you want to use this for. If you want it for geese or low-flying unidentified flying objects(of the saucer configuration) then look into a 10ga.

I use my shot gun for a varity of things. I shoot skeet, hunt crows, partridge, turkey, and geese. I want something that can be easy on the shoulder when shooting skeet yet reach out and drop a turkey or crow. Some of the 3.5" guns such as the SBE will take all the size shells I want to use.

the browning bps is similar to the ithica only better... they have a top mounted safety and a bottom eject. I'm a lefty and i own lots of different pumps, including guns converted to left handed safety, the bps is still the most reliable, toughest, most versitile gun i've got.

I'll second the vote for the Browning BPS. I've owned on for 15+ years with never a hiccup. While I'm not a lefty I liked the bottom eject and the tang safety. It's so much easier to use, as far as taking the safety off to fire, than my rem 870's. But I guess that's all in what your used too.

dukkillr- how do you convert a safety for a lefty?

I will check into the bps. I have a lefty a bolt and love it. The only problem is it is made in Japan.

Do they make a 3.5"?

my absolute favorite shotgun is a 2 3/4" model 12 with a 28" modified barrel. Its the gun i'll have when i open the kansas and missouri duck seasons on saturday, it's also my dove, quail, pheasant, and occasional fall turkey gun. i had the good people at simmons install a left handed safety on it for me. it was roughly 60 bucks.

my experience has been that the newer pumps like 870 and mossbergs do not have a tight enough fit to keep the gasses from chamber out of my eyes. i've never had that problem with my m12. i still have to deal with the empties flying across my line of sight but with the tight chamber and a lefthanded safety that gun is passable for a lefty.
