Missin' AK and Good Luck Nov 2
« on: October 24, 2004, 01:53:07 PM »
Howdy Folks :D ,

It's gettin' a might bit chilly, by southern standards, here in Virginia.  Makes me miss Alaska all that much more.  Leaves are turning and I'll be looking for a deer (very small moose in my mind) on Quantico next month.

Good luck Nov 2'nd.  Sure hope the "out-of-staters" don't manage to thwart the bear baiting -- I'd like to see a pic of Dave's color-phase blackie when it grows up and he sticks and arrow in him.

I'm savin' my pennies for a trip back to the land of the midnight sun  .

HI Matt
Sure hope ya get to come back. Well sounds like ole Dave
wants to stick a big Brownie with a arrow now.He probably
will to. Well we hope that the out come of the bear baiting issue
is the good one or there is going to be a lot of problems. Heck
even some of the cities will be in violation with there dumps and dumpsters. Hopefully we all pull together and defeat this crap.

That is an affirmative.  I have a friend with a 40' boat now that can get me out to the big bears this spring.  I have to buy a back scabbard for the 12 gauge and I am all set.  Can't run all that fast anymore so either stand and fight or be dinner.

Matt - I can only offer you sympathy on having to live like a city feller.  Oh! The thought of such a thing.  I have to go to LosAnchorage to buy tires this weekend.  I hope I survive.

Lets see:  Pack artic bag, food, 1911 with 5 clips, tools........

Matt,

Good to see another post from you! Hope all is well! "Get thee back hence"...or G.T.B.H. if you prefere! The sooner the better!  :D
(Old offers always apply!)

Dave,

Your desire to bag a brownie with bow is shared by others...not the least of is yours truly! Will be a kick! I'd me more concerned about the trip to Las Anchorage. (You had better take "6" clips!)

"Hopefully we all pull together and defeat this crap."

dabigmoose,

You mirror my sentiments to a "tee!" It will take a concerted effort from all of us! Hopes are higher today than before. I think that Mr. joslin and crew   are learning that truth is stronger than B.S.

BTW, how is the back doing?

best to all,
Mark

FYI -- Daveinthebush, et al...
I'm takin' my son, Chad, to Kentucky next month to hunt deer.  ButlerFord45 offered to let us come on out for a Father/Son hunt and we can hardly wait.  I cut down my .243, let Chad refinish the stock, and will post pics when all is said and done.

Bearhuntr -- I'm savin' my pennies now and will let ya'll know when I can make it back to AK.  I still remember your offers and will gladly link up with you and/or Daveinthebush when I pay a visit to the Land of the Midnight Sun.
