Just bought a CZ 452 .22LR
« on: November 05, 2004, 09:08:45 PM »
I bought yesterday a 452 Lux (the version with the long barrel and hooded front sight), and does it shoot amazing! my first 5 shots (at 55 yards) were in a 1" circle, 1/2 inch tot the right of the center of the bull's eye.

I am sure when I do my part, they'll cloverleaf :)
and very nice wood also!

I just have some questions: on www.cz-usa.com , they mention the Lux is threaded for a sound moderator. How do I remove the hood (over the front post) and the tube that's over the thread, were the ramp is located upon?

And does the dovetail on the Lux (in .22LR) measures 11mm or 3/8"?
(at what point is that measured? the top of the rail, were it's at its widest?)

Anyway, I'll comment again after some more boxes of 22s...
At this point, I can say it's the most accurate rifle I've shot this far...

King nero;  Congratulations on your new Lux. These rifles seem to get more accurate the more you shoot them and try different ammo brands.

The front sight hood "spreads" a little to slide out of the grooves it is mounted in. This is the tightest fitting hood I've come across. Be careful not to slice open your hand on the front sight blade as you remove the hood.

The dovetail measures 11mm at the top of the rail.

I can't help with the questions relating to sound moderators. Here in the USA moderators or silencers require special permits and heavy fees. They are also illegal in most, if not all of the states. I belive they are only available to military and law enforcement folks. So most of us rimfire shooters aren't worried about removing the tube.
