I have found the Holy Grail of NEF lovers right here at Graybeards...

I have found allot of good posts about my little ole handi, and some neat tricks too.  I hope that you will find my insight usefull as I have found yours...

Right now I have 3 NEFs...one is a youth 20ga, two is a .223, and my newest project is a surviour 410/.45 colt...and to my good fortune, all three barrels fit the Handi .223 frame...so I am all set....(for now heheh)

I have found for my .223 that UltraMax 50 gr Btips shoot the best.  I am getting 3/4 groups at 88 yards...with 5 rounds...Hope to work that down a bit after lapping my barrel.  Both the 45 JHP and the 55 FMJ from Win...were only giving me about 1 1/2 inch groups at 88 yards.... I hope the new lot number of UltraMax shoots as well as the last one I bought...

Anyway...I have done some tests with my 410/.45  and it seems to be a good shooter of the colts...I was even able to load up 5 rounds in a .45 +p magnum and all looks well to me...Hopefully this Nov I will be able to work up a good magnum round, now that I have my .45 barrel scoped.

I will get back to you all about my .45 test later in the month...

I have a .223 Handi and I just love it. It shoots very ...very good.  I use it for hunting coyotes and fox here in Wisconsin.

welcome  also , i would be interested in yur 45colt test , ivebeen wanting to get one  but always heard  bad things about them  and i guess ive been slow( to cheap maybe) about either buyin one or havingthe barrel added , they sort of hump a guy on the 45/410  barrel additon , when i called them it was close to the 100 dollar range by the time i got it back here ? , gunbroker has had a few for sale in the 170 range oh one of these days some one will wantto move one , or ill run in to a deal
