leupold compact for model 7?

I am looking at the leupold compact 2-7 for my remington model 7 .308.  anyone have experience with this scope?  i am looking for a lightweight scope as i tend to walk a lot while hunting. i am open to other suggestions.

A nice fit size wise but you gain little in reduced weight or length and lose in FOV. That's a compromise I personally am not willing to make for the small gain in reduced weight and length. Full sized 2-7 are within an ounce or two in weight and an inch or so in length and offer a wider FOV and usually greater eye relief as well. I use the compacts on rimfires only myself.

Rusty75, I have a stainless synthetic #7 in 260 rem. It wears a leupold  2x7 varix 2. Current production. Fits and works great for me here in southeast Alaska. Regards, Byron
