Found this browsing the ads yesterday. Any comments?

Sounds a bit fishy to me.

Wait a min...I know that the .223 is a center fire....And I am almost sure that the .17 is a rim fire...how is one frame suppose to fire both barrels...
Keep them in the 10 Ring my Butt, Keep them on the 10

HutchHandiMan, exactly my point. i've got a 22lr Sportster that I'll be sending to NEF in a few weeks for 2 new barrels so I've got no interest in this gun. But the fact that one barrel is a rimfire the other a centerfire piqued my interest. It's my understanding that a combo of 22lr and 410 bore works because the bore in one or the other is offset for firing pin differences. I have never heard of this combination though. Great idea if it would work, one caliber for varminting to about 150 yards the other for ranges over that.

Hey Marv, my impression from the ad is that it is one frame and 2 barrels. If you contact the seller and find out that it is two rifles, please post your information here. Any info from the seller would be appreciated if you get it.

I just got off the phone with Wayne. He said he took it in as a trade and it was described to him as a combo. He says thanks for the info and can now see it is nota combo, that one is centerfire and one is rimfire and the fireing pin appears to be offset. I believe he honestly did not know they did not go together. He checked the number on the .223 barrel and it did not match the last 3 on the rimfire frame. My guess is he is going to sell them seperately now....<><....

Just as an FYI guys, NEF DID make a rimfire/centerfire combo gun for a few years.  Not sure what caliber combo's were offered.  I called and asked them about this a long time ago and they confirmed it.  But it is a special setup and other barrels may not fit.

Best way would be to get the S# and call NEF

Thanks for the leg work guys, interesting info for sure.

Interesting concept though don't you think? Give the Contender boys a run for their money...

NEF could do away with the rimfire reciever entirely if they just drilled the bore off center to allow a rimfire to shoot on a centerfire frame.

Eithe that or place a selector lever in the receiver like TC does.  Of course this would up the price quite a bit.
