I just took my first deer with the huntsman. I used 100 grains of the real stuff { black powder } and a 300 gr. conical bullet. I shot it at 50 yds. and it was all over. QUICK !!! :twisted: i shot one immediate kill.

Congrats on your deer, the huntsman is a fine gun. I have never used BP out of mine. But I do have a CVA Bobcat sidelock that I shoot BP and a CVA deerslayer bullet out of.

We have an after Christmas flintlock season. I use black powder for it so I thought of using it in my huntsman. Works fine in both and I don't need to mess with different powers. :grin:

Hello everyone, new to GBO, congrats to missed_shot. Last year I did not get to take a deer with my Huntsman,But wednesday evening that changed. Took a 90lbs doe at 65yds with a neck shot. My load was 2, 50gr cleanshot pellets with a hornady sabot ,45cal 240gr XTP/MAG bullet( 454casull velocitys) [/i]
