Takin' the boy huntin' in the mornin'
« on: November 05, 2004, 03:42:33 PM »
:D I've taken my son, Chad (11-years-old), on a few hunts before; squirrels in KS, ducks in MO, and grouse in AK.  He's fired a few rounds but not yet brought a critter to bag.  Tomorrow mornin' we're off to Quantico, VA for squirrels and I've got a good feelin'.  Wish us luck and maybe we'll have a pot of squirrel chili for dinner.

Thanks NYHUnter.  Chad took his first critter this morning, a squirrel, and it's in the crock pot with chili fixin's.  What a great day.

Sounds wonderful Matt!  11 is a neat age, big enough to do a lot but not quite to the stage where they know everything ;~)  I applaud your starting him out on small game, I haven't known a good small game hunter who is not a great big game hunter.
