Knight .45 woes
« on: November 02, 2004, 01:36:20 PM »
I purchased a Knight Disc 26" ss with 1 in 30 twist . The prob is  The gun will group only with a clean barrel or with a fouled one . If I shoot with a freshly swabbed barrel the bullet hits 6-8 " different on the next shot , then it will group 2-3 shots with the fouled barrel . Not a problem at the range but in a hunting situation you do not have time to swab the barrel for a follow up shot . So..... do I swab between each shot or do I  shoot a fouling shot and then not swab the gun till the end of hunting season . I have a .50 cal Knight that will group clean or fouled . I have tried all of Knight's recommendations but none work. They want me to send the gun back to test it but I am not satisfied with that because I am not there to show then this problem. ANY SUGGESTIONS

I am a bit confused... are you saying on your fouled shots that you do not swab between shots? You just load and fire?

If so, that is not what Knight suggests, they say to fire a foul shot, spit patch, load and fire. That is the shooting procedure that they recommended to me and it seems to work...
