wilbe lead are you thinking of a single strap like a sling or a double strap like a back pack?
I`m thinking it would be easy to take a Triple-K scabbard to a shoe repair shop and have quick detachable sling swivels sewn to it. That way you can remove the sling from the rifle. Slide the rifle into the scabbard and reattach the sling to the scabbard to carry it.
I am also thinking that for myself living and hunting in a wet climate that I might construct a waxed canvas scabbard with flap top closure. I think that it would have two straps. The second would have the option of over the shoulder or around the waist depending on the need at the moment.
The old world formula for waxing canvas is to combine equal parts of bees wax, pine tar,and linseed oil. Apply warm. Good luck. POW

Hi Prince of Whales,
What I seen in the picture was like a backpack.
Think I will go talk to a shoemaker. There is still of them around.
I would use it mostly for packing a doublebarrel shotgun.
That way I still have hands free for a pistol.Could get two slings with shell holders in them. One for shotgun shell and one for smaller round.
Thanks for your thoughts and ideas.
