How's this for a contraption?: I have a bullseye 1911 and I got tired of slopping solvent on my red dot sight during cleaning, so I tried a pair of Leupold quick detach rings. Works pretty good, but now I've got the little levers where there were previously none. Practical, but not very fashionable. So far, it works as hoped, but only time will tell.
