Best buttstock to handle recoil?

Assuming one installs a Limb Saver or Decellerator, which of the various Handi/Ultra buttstock configurations would you choose for a heavy-recoiling caliber, to be used with or without a scope.

The laminated stocks offer more weight and a wider butt to allow a bigger foot print thus less felt recoil. The Limbsaver is the ultimate in recoil protection, IMO. I used the grind to fit model Limbsaver, it allowed me to fit the butt but retain the full width of the recoil pad for less lbs per square inch felt recoil.
.45-70/cinnamon laminate/Limbsaver.

And a very nice looking  45-70 if I do say so myself

The Limbsaver is the way to go with any type stock configuration...I absolutly love mine on my Marlin 1895 GS...and wouldn't have anyother type now...used to be a big Pachmayer fan...and won't go back...

My H&R Ultra .308 kicks like a mule.  I intend to try one of the thumbhole stocks that are available along with a Limbsaver.  I've not shot a thumbhole stock but would think it would take away some of the recoil.

cgturner7....I don't why your 308 is kicking like that...unless the stock doesn't fit you very well...the Limbsaver will help a great deal...so to...will a nice soft cheek pad...you can pick those up at just about any large trap&skeet range,I have one on my Over&Under 12 ga. Sporting Clays gun and it works great...or...you can do what I did for my 1895GS Marlin...and get a Uncle Mike's Neoprean butt stock shell holder from Walmart or your local sporting goods store and put a little bit of soft foam under it...that will take all the pounding your getting on your cheek out of it...and will make the percieved recoil a-lot less...it will also keep you from scrunching down on the stock and be a-lot more comfortable to shoot...
