If you have a slightly used rifle sized lock that you would like to sell please contact me through private message, I would also like some bulletin board recommendations, ebay is not a good site.

You are right about e-bay. You didn't mention which type of lock you are looking for-- flint or percussion or what era the rifle will represent. If
percussion, you can get a first rate, new lock from Track for around $70.00 or so. Flint is somewhat more, but given the importance of the lock to the gun, a used one might be a false economy. Anyway, just type
track of the wolf into your browser window--it's worth a look.

filmokentucky has given you very good advice. Track of the Wolf is a great connection for rifle builders, especially us novices. I am lucky enough to only be about 100 miles from Elk River MN, and have found them very helpful and knowledgeable when choosing period correct parts for any rifle. The head gunsmith there is also willing to help solve technical problems that may come up. They have every thing you need for building rifles, and will even sell your completed rifles for you !  They have an easy to use online catalog, but I suggest you send the $7 they need for their printed one.
