New toy (Not an H&R, but could not help myself)
« on: November 12, 2004, 02:13:00 AM »
Well I sold the Wally World Vangaurd 270 Win and made a 35.00 profit. I went and purchased a TC Contender G2 brand new and a 14'' 7-30 Waters barrel. I have been wanting a 7-30 for a long time in a 24'' barreled M94 but can not seem to find one. I wanted to get back into handgun hunting so the 7-30 in a G2 seemed like a good choice. This spring I plan on getting a 23'' stainless 7-30 Waters rifle barrel and butstock. The 7-30 is still clocking 2400 FPS out of the 14'' barrel. Just need to find someone who has a nice pistol scope for cheap. Can not waite to shoot it.

i think you will love the G2.i got one this summer myself and i love it.mine is in 223 and i had the trigger worked down light.my G2 is a great shooter.i going to buy another barrel sometime soon for deer hunting but i need a straight walled calliber for hunting in the shotgun zone here in Michigan.check out the TC forums here.lots of good info and they have a for sale forum too.im sure you have seen them.good luck with the new G2 and i hear the 7-30 is a great caliber

I really like the trigger on my G2. I was worried I would have to have it worked but it feels great. I cocked it and held on to the hammer while pulling the trigger and it seems to brake crisp and lite. Straight walled case only. Sounds like a 357 Maximum is the one to get then. I have been following the TC boards here lately and it has rekindled the fire for a Contender.

Thanks for the links Deadeye47. I seen Raynor's add but can not swing it right now. The 2x burris might be a option.
