Tight /Hard to open Mosin Bolt
« on: November 09, 2004, 10:16:40 AM »
I've been cleaning some Finnish Mosin M39's I purchased a few years ago that just sat in the safe.  After reassembling the gun I noticed the bolt was hard to open when its resetting the firing pin.  While the bolt is squeeky clean I disassembled it and moly'ed up the reset cam and everything that rotates.  After putting it back in the gun as the moly worked in it became easier to reset the bolt after firing.  Soon after if I didn't fire it and just ran the bolt while it was set it almost feels the same effort when resetting it now as the moly works in the better it gets.  BigBill
