Gentlemen: The other day I fell heir to a Simmons 2.5 shotgun scope that someone had lost the adjustment covers. I made a call to Simmons down in GA. When I explained my problem to a young man, he said he'd send them right out if they were in stock, got them today. When I asked about cost, I was told no charge, Simmons may not be the best optics, but sure can't knock thier customer service!!!! Keep'em In The Black:  :grin: Duce:

I don't know how the lower end Simmons hold up to the big recoilers but I have one on my 243 and I like it a lot.

The Aetecs, Whitetail Expedition, ATV and Whitetail Classics all have an excellent track record in general. I have or have had all of the above with the exception of the Aetec, no problems with any of em. As far as CS, I've only read of one case where the customer wasn't happy, and that had to do with an obsolete model,  but I've read a bunch just like the above report, many happy Simmons customers.

I have two of the ATV's.  Very nice scope for the money, one on my 223  UV and the other on my 243 bolt.  Paid $81 for one and $65 for the other on ebay.  Very under rated scope.

As everyone has stated;

Simmons have some good scopes.  I've only bought one, the ATECH matte in 2.8X10X44, mounted it on my Ultra 223 barrel. I really like this setup. An MOA rifle without a lot of money.

I shot my first deer this week (see my post on firsts) with a Handi 270 wearing a Simmons 44Mag 3-10x X 44.  I like it.  We'll see how it holds up over a couple seasons, but it seems like a fairly well made scope.

I have the straight 6X Simmons pro-hunter on my 7600 30-06 Pump. Its been a very good scope. I also own the Aetecs. They can't be beat for tough and clear. Good eye relief. 5 inches. thats about the most in the industry. For 60.00 though that 6X40 pro hunter is hard to beat.
shot placement is everything.

I've got a 1.5-5x simmons shotgun scope on my Rem. 870 slug gun.  It has the pro diamond reticle in it.  I've had it a long time, and every year when I sight the gun in, its always right on.  I think they make fine scopes, for the price.

I had a Simmons Whitetail Expidition 4-12-42 AO on my  308 Survivor...and when I sold the gun  to my neighbor...I put it on my Weatherby 257 Accumark...and it started to not hold it's zero after 20 rounds...up until that point...it was a great scope...took it back to where I got it...and traded up on a new Leupold 3.5-10 VX-3...which now sits on my 308 Handi...the Simmons are good scopes for the money...and the return policy ...at least where I do buisness...makes returning them pretty easy...
