Sidekick showing some promise
« on: November 20, 2004, 02:43:01 PM »
finaly got to shoot her this afternoon.. patched round ball, not so good, but I have a couple of boxes of TC maxi balls,  370 gr,  lubed them up with bore butter, slid 'em down on 70 gr Goex FFF, and shot a group of three, with no cleaning between shots... two clipped each other and the third one inch away at 50 yds..., open sights as issued from factory.. Now I'm waiting for some nosler sabots I have ordered.. I'll keep youall posted...Les

Sidekick showing some promise

I too got out today to finally shoot my new Sidekick,,had to wait on a scope rail from H&R and it arrived yesterday. So I mounted a 4x BSA Deerhunter that I had laying around.
Anyway....I started by using the laser sight-in device in the bore and that got it to where I was comfortable to go shoot. Set the bench up at 75yds. and the first 295gr PB hollowpoint on top of 2- 50gr 777 pellets was on the paper a few inches off the bull. After some adjustment on the scope and another shot,,then a bit more adjustment,,I put the next 2 touching on a 2 inch square of tape just above the bullseye.
I then decided to try another bullet, and stuck a 3 inch shoot n see target over the tape square, then loaded a 240gr TC hollowpoint sabot, using the same 100gr 777 charge. The 3 sabots I shot next all hit the shoot n see target.
I was pleasantly surprised that both bullets being of different weight shot the same,,and being a couple inches high at 75 yds should allow for a longer shot should I need to take one.
So as usual,,,the guys on this site know their stuff,,these inexpensive guns really shoot well.
