I'm looking at buying a 45/70 VR bbl,my question is how do you install a scope on one of these? Does it act like a weaver style base? And does it have the slots in it so the mounts don't move around, lots of recoil with this bbl? SGB

If it's a SSK barrel, the rib has a weaver type rail machined into the rib at the breech end of the barrel.
