12 or 20? get the 20. i don't care how big a deer your shooting at the 20 will kill out to 200 yds. i'm not saying that any slug gun is accurate enough to take a 200 yard shot, more like 150, but with the 20 ga. rem cor-lokt or the win part gold, both 260 have over 1000 ft/lbs at 200 yds(rem cor lokt have 1070 ft/lbs at 200 yds). compare the 20 ga. remington cor-lokt 2 3/4 260 gr slugs to lightfield comammder 3'' 12 ga. 1 1/4 oz at 100 yds
lightfield comander 3'' 1 1/4oz 1800 fps muzzle volocity. ballistics at 100 yds. 12 ga.
energy:1588 ft/lbs
volocity:1600 fps
trajectory: 50 yds:2.0''+, 100yds: 0.0'', 125 yds: 3.3-
remington cor-lokt ultra 260gr 2 3/4'' 1900 fps muzzle volocity. 20 ga.
balistics at 100 yds.
energy:1506 ft/lbs
volocity:1650 fps
trajectory: 50 yds: 1.8''+, 100 yds: 1.0''+, 125 yds:0.8+, 150 yds: 0.0"
now isn't that intresting, the 20 ga. equals or outproforms the 12 ga.
when winchester introduced the 20 ga. partition gold the field tested it on wild hogs. they took several 400 lb hogs out to and past 120 yds. very, very impresive
