Pistol Lanyard?
« on: November 25, 2004, 04:33:21 PM »
I have a question for all of you handgun-treestand hunters. Do you use any type of lanyard/strap on your pistol to keep you from fumbling it out of the tree? I never have, but it seems to me like a good idea. If you are familiar with what I am talking about I would like to know what you use, and how and where you attach it to the gun. Thanks.

I use a sling.  I use Hogue grips and have replaced the standard screw with a sling swivel.  On the barrel end I removed the sling latch and have made a slip knot which is held in place with tension.  The front sight prevents it from sliding off.
I have not had any problems to date with this setup.

I use a sling even on revolvers. I find it impossible to draw a gun on stand.Even from the Bandoleero style.
