Finally, a friend to go hunting with
« on: November 14, 2004, 02:42:43 PM »
I went hunting yesterday. My barber of all people, took me to a place to hunt. I saw deer for the first time in a while . I couldn't get a shot. That's ok. The place I hunted is a great place for the tracker or the 45-70. Kinda brushy. I also heard something I haven't heard in a while either. A couple of deer I didn't see blew at me walking back to the truck. No shot on them at all. He told me of some places to try and he said when we could get together, he had about 4 other places we could go. There was one place he said he wanted to go. But not alone. I think that there may be signs of a cougar at this place or maybe bobcats. He said there was plenty of deer though. Been here 5 yrs and now maybe my luck will change. It's about time!  :toast: I hope that maybe it's a cougar, so he can taste a300gr. corelok. That would be his last meal. Jamie told me that a few years back they introduced yotes and a few cougar to keep the deer population down. It would be more advantagious to lengthen the season, for the hunters , but I just using the common sense approach
