Buffalo Classic
« on: November 13, 2004, 01:37:58 PM »
I am a new member and have a question for the Buffalo Classic owners.
I have ordered a classic from a local dealer. His jobber advised him he had ordered several buffalo classics in April and has yet to get them. I then checked a listed dealer in another town and was told by the salesman that he had, had one on order for two years. Whats the deal ?
I see a lot of talk about the classics but nothing along this line or is it just taken for granted that it takes a long while?
Anyway am glad to be a member here. Hope I can be of some help to those of you that try the cast bullet route.

Welcome to GBO! :D  FWIW, an online internet catalog shows no Buffalo Classics in stock in either .45-70 or .38-55. If this is a nationwide trend, it may be a long wait for your BC.

Escalante; I found that "on order" for a Buff classic means "not this year".
If you do find one on a shelf, it's usually full retail. It looks like there is one now being offered on the Nef H&R for sale forum, or keep checking Gun Broker or Auction Arms. They do show up occasionaly. i wish you luck, these are great guns.

Escalante, go to the Shotgun Forum and check out the last post ("I got one") by woodbutcher. He knows where there is a BC in 45-70 on a dealers shelf right now in Western PA and will send you the name of the store and phone number if you are interested. He mentioned this as a aside when talking about his new Celuxe Classic shotgun....Good Luck....<><....

There are a few around, but they are hard to find at times. Right now I have 1 in stock and will let it go for $325 plus shipping to your FFL.  If anyone is interested drop a PM. Has the Williams peep, Lyman front globe, and ships in a hard case. ~~ raynor

Escalante,

I called my dealer on a Monday two weeks ago and told him I wanted a 45-70 Buffalo Classic. He looked up the price, gave me a quote and had it for me that Friday. From what I had read, I expected it to be unavailable. Maybe this was unusual for the BC, but no waiting for me. Price was just under 335 total.
