I have two factory 444 marlin Encore barrels. One a stk 15" and a second 15" that I cut down to 11". Can't say if they still make them but they certainly did in the beginning.  KN

Now, I'm wanting to believe that they actually made a factory Contender barrel in 444 Marlin for a very short time. I had one made from a 44 Mag barrel years ago and seem to remember seeing factory ones listed once.....perhaps I'm cracking up. I've been wrong before....I plan on being wrong again!!!!

I have a 14". They are a little hard to find. I found one at auction arms. Have yet to shoot it. Need to get a sight or I was thinking about a red dot.
I want a quality red dot. I have a feeling it might eat up the cheapies. :)

Encore, Factory. Gonna pick up a box of ammo tomorrow and try to shoot it this weekend. Got an open site to fit it. Should be interesting. I figure I better try it before I spend a bunch on a good site. Keep an eye out. You might see it up for sale. I shot my brothers .444 rifle a couple weeks ago. Recoil seemed managable. But this is a pistol.

I've been loading mine with 49gr of H-322 behind a 300gr Sierra JFP. Very accurate. I have shot many MOA groups with this load. By the way, recoil isn't too bad with a 15" barrel.  KN

If you decide you ever want to sell it, keep me in mind. I will buy it. :)

Chris - M&M have a factory 15 inch 444 Marlin Encore Barrel listed - and the price is fair considering they are pretty hard to come by.  Go Here:

http://pages.prodigy.net/mktcdyksman/

As far as I know when the Encore first came out factory 444 barels were available in 15 inch pistol lenght, but I am not aware of any 24 inch or any other lenght factory rifle barrels being produced.

The 444 Marlin was never available from the factory in a contender barrel, the ones you see on the market (ebay sometimes) are all rechambers or custom - this one is marginally safe with factory loads from my understanding.  Now JDJ pushed it and started chambering the 430 JDJ, which as I understand it was a 444 down loaded a bit - I am starting to talk about things I don't know all that much about so I will just leave it at this.
