.224 Barnes X-Bullets
« on: November 17, 2004, 04:08:28 AM »
I have to admit that most of my shooting and reloading time is involved with my .220 Swift.  I am interested in loading some rounds with X-Bullets for coyotes out here (I have had problems with V-max's, Ballistic Tips, etc. blowing up when hitting a rib or such).  I loaded some 120 Ballistic tips in my 7mm Mag, but that is using a little too much powder for that purpose.  I am thinking that a 52 grain X-Bullet at around 37-3800 fps would be nasty on the yotes.  Anybody have any experience with them in this caliber they can tell me about before I go drop some change on them?

Thanks,
