Left .........308 for comparison only
300 Hornady FP
300 Hornady SP
300 Hawk .035
240 Barnes X........300X with the base cut down.....shoots well!

I have shot five deer with the 300 Hawks form 80-100yds, all one shot kills!

Two more today with the Hornady SPs, make me 7 for 7 with the .41.

I did the "Water Test" on the 240Xs off the roof into a plastic garbage can full of water. Perfect expansion, and blew the side out of the "can".  Lay a pc. of cardboard over the can, it will keep you from getting a bath!

Has anyone used either of the Hornady bullets? The SPs will group uner 5/8s at 100yds. The FPs about 4"s, I would really like to use the FPs! Need more testing!

Shoot Straight!

I think TennesseeNuc said it better than I can. Can we get a little more detail? It doesn't look like a 30 caliber, so is that the bullet weight?  It sounds like it's 41 caliber. What kind of gun? I'm genuinely curious, but I don't have much info to go on.

OOOPs!

More Info Needed!!!!!!!!

It is .411cal.
The case is a 240 Weatherby, blown out and shorted to 2.170.
It is built on a Sako bolt action, I have both front and rear grip stocks.
And yes it does have a Muzzle Brake on its 14" barrel.
I am getting just over 2100 fps. with the 300 Hawks, I have not tested the Hornadys, yet.[for speed]

Sorry, I thought I had some of this info in my 2for2 Post, but I didin't!
