Does anyone know if using deer decoys in N.Y. legal?
It would be used in rifle country in the southern zone.
I checked the DEC website and didn't find anything !
Thanks for any help!!

If you find out on another forum, let us know here as well.  I have been thinking of tring it as well.
A bad day of hunting is better than a good day at the golf course.

I don't believe that their are any regs. prohibiting it. I have been thinking of it myself, I know for sure that I would have taken a six pointer this season with one. My real concern is packability and ease of setup. If anyone knows of a good one at a reasonable price let me know. Thanks!      If you are still concerned about the legality of this you might give a call to the New paltz office on monday at 256-3013

I talked with a local encon officer that was hanging at a local gun shop and he didn't know of any law that would be broken by using one.
Toecutter ,    ck out bass pro shops
they have corrugated fold up plastic  decoys from $14.-$24. these were the ones that I was (am) going for, i've seen these at someones house and from 30' away are impressive
Good luck 11/22 y'all and thanks for the reply :D

thanks bing, I didn't think I could afford one this year, but I think that will do the trick. I just got a brain storm to make the decoy safer during gun season...I'm gonna paint the white in the ears, throat, and tail, fluorescent orange. It may or may not work but the deer sure won't know the difference. Hopefully gander carries those, good luck to you all :D
