OK guys and gals, I have 2 openings for 2X1 hunts the first week of June. Then we are full for the Rut and the prime hunting dates. There are a few openings in July remaining but early to mid June is the time to be there in my opinion. That is peak Kudu rut.
This is gonna likely be the least expensive hunt you will find for the future because the Rand is strong and the government has a policy much like the USA does to regulate the value with interest rates now. They never did this before which caused wild exchange rates. The Current exchange level will likely remain at 6.25:1 or in that area. The days of 10:1 are gone in my (and most peoples)opinion. With the more consistant levels of Exchange rates now I know for 100% certain that most if not all Landowners and Outfitters will have to raise prices to stay afloat.
This season (2005) we will be hunting some new private lands which have had no internmational hunting pressure. These lands have only been hunted for meat by locals, not trophy hunters. This also allows the potential for some exceptional trophies on land that has had no (trophy hunting) pressure for many many years( maybe 20 or more!)
I would prefer 2 pairs of 2X1 hunters but I'm open to ideas on this. We could also take 1X1, but the most inexpensive hunts are 2X1.
