.223 Super 16 Velocity Question
« on: November 18, 2004, 04:46:20 AM »
Does anyone have an idea how much velocity I am losing with the Super 16 .223 as compared to the reloading manual?

If the Hornady book says I am loading to around 3200 fps with a full length barrel, what am I likely to actually see?

Don't have a chronograph to actually check it, and thought maybe some of you have done checks with one.

Thanks guys!

Joe

The difference is going to change every time you change powder , bullet, charge weight , primer or anything else . It will vary from 20-50 fps for every inch of barrel.

Yes, I realize that my velocity will vary depending on bullet/powder/ etc. That is true no matter what the barrel length.

What I was looking for was the loss per inch of barrel that you mentioned.

Thanks!
