1.75-5x on long action
« on: November 18, 2004, 05:53:45 PM »
I have a Rem.700 in .270win and currently have a leupold 3-9x on it. However, I find that when deer hunting I always leave it at 3x, so I decided to go with a lower power scope and narrowed it down to a Burris Fullfield 2 in 1.75-5x, which is about 10.7 inches in length. I decided on this scope because the price is about right at what I would like to spend and I feel a scope in this power range would serve me better, and I think a smaller scope is handier.  My question is will a scope of that size fit well on a long action? Any experience or opinions please.

jpstrait,

The only thing that you really have to consider is if you have enough eye relief to shoot in a normal shooting position, along with not having to mount the scope to far back, so that the scope will not be able to fit in your mounting system.
